Musk fragrances

Musk is the base note you feel more than smell: a warm, skin-like hum that makes fragrances feel finished and human. Once animal-derived, it has been synthetic for generations, and perfumers now choose from dozens of musks ranging from clean-laundry white to genuinely sweaty. Its job is blending: musk pulls every other note closer to the body and stretches them across hours, the reason a scent still whispers on your collar the next morning. Aventus lands on musk after its smoke clears, Light Blue rides clean musks for its famous drydown, and Libre uses them to soften lavender's edges. If a fragrance ever struck you as smelling like "better skin", you were complimenting the musk.
