The story

Daisy launched in 2007, composed by Alberto Morillas of Firmenich for Marc Jacobs, as a deliberately fresh, youthful floral aimed at a younger demographic than the brand's earlier scents. It centers on a soft violet-and-jasmine heart with strawberry and grapefruit on top over a clean musky-woody base. The whimsical bottle topped with rubbery white daisy flowers became a signature retail and gifting object and helped make it a long-running bestseller. It launched a very large flanker family, including the popular Daisy Eau So Fresh and many limited-edition cap variations. Its accessible price and friendly profile made it one of the defining 'first designer fragrance' picks of its era.

Our take

A light, cheerful floral built on violet, jasmine and soft fruit — easygoing and approachable rather than bold. The daisy-capped bottle made it a wildly popular gateway fragrance for younger wearers.
