Viktor & Rolf launched Flowerbomb in 2005, conceived by the Dutch designers as a fragrance that would 'make the world a better place' by exploding into flowers, hence the grenade-shaped bottle. It was composed by a quartet of perfumers — Olivier Polge, Carlos Benaïm, Domitille Bertier and Olivier Cresp — blending a lavish floral heart with a patchouli-and-vanilla base for a rich, sweetened effect. The scent became a defining sweet floral of the 2000s and a long-running pillar for the house, consistently ranking among the best-selling women's fragrances for years. Its success drove an extensive flanker line including Flowerbomb Nectar, Bloom, Midnight and Tiger Lily, plus a masculine counterpart, Spicebomb. The grenade bottle remains one of the most recognizable in modern perfumery.
A dense, sweet floral bouquet of jasmine, rose, orchid and freesia anchored by patchouli and vanilla, giving it a warm, almost candied richness. Famously potent and long-lasting, it is a true bouquet-in-a-bottle that fills a room.
