Luna Rossa Carbon launched in 2017 as a darker, more mineral flanker in Prada's Luna Rossa line, which takes its name and inspiration from Prada's America's Cup sailing campaign. It was composed by Daniela Andrier, the in-house Prada nose responsible for much of the brand's fragrance identity. The fragrance pairs a bright bergamot opening with lavender, black pepper and a synthetic metallic 'coal' accord over patchouli and ambroxan, giving it a clean but distinctly mineral, almost graphite-like character. It became a strong seller and a frequent recommendation in the crowded blue-fresh category alongside Bleu de Chanel and Sauvage. Its versatility and projection made it a staple compliment-getter and a gateway fragrance for many younger buyers. The Carbon name and dark bottle have since become one of the most recognizable signatures in the Luna Rossa range.
A sharp, mineral-fresh take on the modern blue-fresh genre, with a distinctive metallic/coal facet over lavender, patchouli and ambroxan. Loud, clean and very wearable - one of the most reliable mass-appeal masculines of the late 2010s.
