The story

Sauvage Elixir arrived in 2021 as the most concentrated entry in the Sauvage family, again composed by Francois Demachy. Rather than a simple amplification of the EDT, it reframes the line with a prominent spicy accord of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom over a licorice-lavender heart and a deep vetiver-patchouli-amber base. Dior marketed it as a 'parfum' concentration with an oily, intense feel and famously strong performance. It became a favourite among enthusiasts who found the original EDT too ubiquitous, prized specifically for its longevity and projection in colder months. It rounded out the Sauvage range alongside the EDT, EDP, and Parfum versions.

Our take

A dense, syrupy reinterpretation of Sauvage: a spicy licorice-and-lavender heart wrapped in a rich woody-amber base. Far heavier and more potent than the EDT, built for cold weather and heavy projection.
