Armani released Acqua di Giò Profumo in 2015 as a more intense, refined evolution of the 1996 original, again composed by Alberto Morillas. Rendered in a sleek black bottle that signaled its nocturnal positioning, it layered an incense and patchouli base beneath the recognizable bergamot-and-marine signature for a smokier, more mineral effect. Critically and commercially it was very well received, often cited as one of the better mainstream flankers of its era for adding genuine character rather than simply boosting concentration. It gave the Acqua di Giò line a versatile evening counterpart to the daytime EDT. The success of Profumo led to further high-concentration entries in the franchise. It remains a frequent recommendation for those who love the original but want more depth, longevity and presence.
A sophisticated, darker reinterpretation of Acqua di Giò that adds smoky incense and mineral depth to the familiar marine freshness. It takes the easygoing original somewhere more grown-up and evening-appropriate, with notably better performance.
