Narciso Rodriguez For Her launched in 2003, with both an Eau de Toilette and the deeper Eau de Parfum in its iconic black bottle arriving that same year; the EDP became the most recognized version of the line. The composition is credited to Francis Kurkdjian and Christine Nagel and is centered on a signature musk accord layered with amber, soft florals (osmanthus and orange blossom) and a woody patchouli-vetiver base. It was groundbreaking for putting musk front-and-center as a sensual, almost intimate signature rather than a supporting note, and it became one of the most influential feminine launches of the 2000s. The scent established the brand's perfume reputation and spawned a wide family, including the For Her Musc Collection, the lighter Eau de Toilette and the For Him counterparts. Its DNA can be traced in a generation of later 'clean musk' and skin-scent fragrances.
A warm, addictive musk wrapped in soft florals and amber that hugs the skin rather than shouting. The benchmark modern musk that countless 'clean skin' scents have chased.
