Green Irish Tweed launched in 1985, composed by Pierre Bourdon with Olivier Creed. Its violet-leaf-and-iris green accord was groundbreaking, and Bourdon reworked the same core idea into Davidoff's Cool Water in 1988 — making GIT the blueprint for one of the best-selling men's fragrances ever. The scent became a signature for those drawn to classic, understated style and is frequently cited as Creed's most 'gentlemanly' release. Where Cool Water leaned aquatic and synthetic for the masses, GIT kept a softer, mossier, more natural-feeling drydown. It remains one of the defining green fougères in perfumery.
A cool, dewy green fragrance built on violet leaf and iris over a soft ambergris-sandalwood base — elegant, clean and decidedly old-money. It reads more refined and grown-up than its famous mass-market descendants.
