It shows up where perfumers want freshness with no fruit and no soap, an austere, architectural kind of clean. Acqua di Giò Profumo is the reference, marine air over stone and incense, while Luna Rossa Carbon runs lavender through something like graphite, and Phantom Elixir uses a mineral edge to keep its sweetness in check. Mineral scents read modern, adult and a little reserved; they are superb office choices precisely because they are hard to describe. If you like the idea of smelling clean but find aquatics too beachy, try stone instead of sea.
