Ombré Leather launched in 2018 as the Eau de Parfum reworking of a 2016 Private Blend release, moving it into Tom Ford's mainstream Signature line. It was composed by perfumer Sonia Constant, who built it around a smooth suede leather accord lifted by cardamom and a powdery jasmine-floral heart sitting on patchouli, amber and moss. The reformulation made leather genuinely accessible to a broad audience, becoming one of Tom Ford's best-selling unisex pillars and a frequent gateway into the leather genre. Its desert-toned marketing and gender-neutral positioning helped it resonate across both men's and women's counters. It was later joined by a more concentrated Parfum version, and it helped cement leather as a commercially viable mainstream note.
A surprisingly approachable, almost creamy leather softened by jasmine and a dusty cardamom-floral facet — far more wearable than most leather scents. It reads modern and unisex rather than smoky or barnyard.
