Coffee Break was released in 2019, created by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud — one of perfumery's most distinguished noses and the master perfumer at Louis Vuitton, whose career credits include Dior J'Adore and Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey. His involvement with a Replica fragrance was notable: the collection typically works with newer voices. The memory he was given is a mid-morning cafe — not the theatrical first pour of espresso but the quieter, milkier atmosphere of a coffee break already underway: roasted Arabica, steamed milk, lavender, a trace of something wooden. Pepper, orange blossom, and patchouli open with unexpected restraint; the heart balances coffee, lavender, milk, tonka bean, siam benzoin, and cypriol oil in a way that reads as warm and intimately cozy rather than gourmand-sweet; and cedar, vanilla, and vetiver anchor the dry-down. Sillage is skin-close and longevity moderate at four to five hours — it is emphatically a personal scent, not a projection exercise. Coffee Break developed a loyal following among fans of comfort fragrances and has been one of the more consistently reordered entries in the Replica line.
The warm, milky quiet of a mid-morning café — coffee and lavender over tonka, vanilla, and cedar make this a deeply cozy, skin-close gourmand.
