Lancôme launched Idôle in 2019, positioning it as a fragrance for a new generation of women and fronting it with Zendaya in its campaign. It was developed by an all-female perfumer team including Shyamala Maisondieu, Adriana Medina and Nadège Le Garlantezec, a point Lancôme highlighted in its marketing. The composition centers on a clean rose and jasmine over a fresh, glowing white-musk base, deliberately avoiding the heavier oriental style of older Lancôme pillars. It was also notable for its ultra-thin, flat bottle design. The fragrance found a younger audience and spawned flankers such as Idôle Nectar, Aura and L'Intense, the latter pushing the rose into richer, sweeter territory.
A bright, clean rose framed by jasmine and a transparent white-musk base, leaning fresh and modern rather than heavy or vintage. Polished and very wearable, it reads as a contemporary everyday rose rather than a statement perfume.
